Hyperbolic Tree as Tool for Network Monitoring
Main Article Content
Abstract
Monitoring tools presents visualization problems when dealing with large hierarquies networks. This paper presents a technique to represent the network map of large hierarchies based on Hyperbolic Tree. A module based on the visualization technique Focus+Context was developed for Nagios monitoring tool. This module improved the visualization of representation map networks by using the Hyperbolic Tree. Results showed that the techniques used are effective and eliminated the loss of context information. Further, a clear identification of all network nodes was possible, making the approach suitable for large networks.
